Colombia is with an ‘O’

Colombia is with an “O”, and that’s the way we like it. The obnoxious “U” where the “O” should be is but one of the many things people get wrong about us. We are not burritos, cigars, and BosaNova. The news and certain shows on Netflix may have left the wrong impression.

That’s why the Colombian community in Lithuania would like to bring Colombia to you, so that you might get the right impression; so that you may savour our delicious Arepas, learn something about our Vallenato, and dance to our succulent Cumbia. We guarantee to leave a fresh and positive impression of our magical country and never, ever, ever again pronounce Colombia with a “U”.

Every Colombian residing in Lithuania is contributing in their own way to repaint your image of Colombia. The event shall be hosted by Jurgis Pranas Didžiulis Valencia, the charismatic Honorary Consul of Colombia in Lithuania, who will also be providing us with live interactive music.

We will also be hosting a group of young Colombian basketball players visiting Lithuania as part of a culture and sport program aimed at promoting opportunities for disadvantaged young people. The government of Colombia believes culture, sports and investing in people-to-people relations to be genuine contributors to peaceful diplomatic endeavours.
